Attention Mr. Moodie,
I recently attended and very much enjoyed your dynamic play, Toronto the Good.
I write because I noted a few “errors” in the script regarding some legal jargon. I don’t know if these are “errors” or if they are simply the use of an artistic license to make the play more comprehensible to a lay audience. If they are the formerr, and if you are interested, I’d be happy to review the script and provide comments regarding the erroneous legal jargon.
Let me know if you are interested.
Yours Truly,
Edward Sapiano

Hey Edward. Thanks so much for coming to see the show. And yes certain changes are made that have nothing to do with truth and everything to do with making the play entertaining. My mom worked in a hospital and every hospital show on television she watched and cringed a little, because she would see how the writers had fudged the truth for the sake of entertainment. I tried to explain to her why and she understood after a while. That being said, I am always eager to learn and listen.
One of the problems I ran into was that it was really difficult to find a crown attorney who would talk to me. And once I did, asking follow up questions was really hard because he wouldn’t return my calls. So some of the errors are intentional (like speeding up time, no case ever gets resolved quickly in real life. But on TV, Film and in theatre we speed up proceedings so we don’t bore the audience to tears) and some errors I really wanted an answer on, but couldn’t get through to a lawyer who was willing to help. If you’re willing to help, then by all means, fire away!!!!
